The Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), State of Osun, Hon. Rasaq Salinsile has described as mischievous a statement credited to him by some online medium over the Osun local government election date.
Reacting to the said publication which alleged that elections into local council would be conducted in January 2018, he said “at no time did I speak with anyone, left alone journalists.”
Salinsile who was speaking at a public event on Wednesday in Osogbo, said the report is unfounded as it was an imagination of the reporter and speculation by the people who are gearing towards the third tiers of government in the State
He therefore said the date for the election will be communicated by the state independent electoral commission saddled with such responsibility as stipulated by the constitution.
While warning media to always do their due diligence before rushing to press, he urged the people of the state to continue to support Governor Rauf Aregbesola-led administration for more delivery of dividends of democracy.
