The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC) has reiterated its readiness to sustain the synergy between the corps and the Nigeria Correctional Service in the State.
Zamfara State NSCDC helmsman, Commandant Mohammed Bello Mua’zu stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the management of the Nigeria Correctional Service in Gusau, Zamfara State.
According to him, assisting in the protection of correctional centres in the state is sacrosanct and of paramount interest to the corps as directed by the Commandant General.
“We are here to protect lives and properties of the citizens irrespective of their tribes and religion and we promised to be ready for anything,” he added.
Mua’zu further called for sustained cooperation between the two services as well as other security agencies in the state to reduce crime rate.
Responding, Mr C. C. Umar Galadima, the head of the Nigeria Correctional Service in the state agreed that NSCDC personnel have been deployed to the correctional facilities in order to boost security and safety of inmates and the facility.
He extolled the NSCDC and also appreciated Muazu’s gesture and avowed that the two bodies would work to keep the relationship alive.
