The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has closed its portal for 2024 Batch B registration amid disruption.
The NYSC management also denied a press release purporting to extend the registration date for the 2024 Batch B Orientation programme.
This is contained in a statement on Tuesday signed by the NYSC Director of Information and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa.
He confirmed that the NYSC registration portal experienced a glitch on Saturday but it was rectified on the same day.

According to the statement, “It has come to the notice of NYSC Management of a Press Release purportedly issued by the National Youth Service Corps, conveying plan to extend the registration date in respect of 2024 Batch “B” Orientation programme.
“Management hereby states that the said release, signed by one Samad Abdullahi, and unsuspectingly quoted by some bloggers as originating from the Scheme is fake and did not originate from NYSC.
“For the purposes of information, the NYSC registration portal experienced a glitch on Saturday 8th June, 2024.
“Prospective Corps Members were immediately notified of the problem in the NYSC portal. When the issue was rectified, registration by Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) continued on the same day.
“Upon reaching the maximum number of PCMs required for the incoming batch in line with the carrying capacities of the 37 NYSC Orientation Camps nationwide, the portal was shutdown accordingly.
“While apologising to the PCMs who could not register for Service before registration was discontinued, Management wishes to assure them that the portal will reopen for 2024 Batch “B” Stream II on a date that will be announced later.
“Criminally-minded individuals who have the penchant of issuing fake press releases on NYSC operations are warned to desist forthwith, as anyone caught will be handed over to the Law enforcement agents for prosecution.
“Online reporters and bloggers are please expected to confirm the authenticity of issues with NYSC before publishing.”
