OAU Fresh Graduate Commits Suicide
A fresh graduate of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, from the Department of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy, Osuolale Olamide has reportedly committed suicide.
Our correspondent gathered that the deceased took his life on Tuesday by taking a sniper in an hostel located in the town.
Although, the reason for his decision is yet to be known, but sources said he committed the suicide over depression.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Ife University Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Students Associate signed by its President, Babatunde Junior and General Secretary, Ogunjobi Faith confirmed that the deceased took his life.
According to the statement, “It is with immense sadness and sorrow that we, IFUTSA, share the news of the sudden passing of our dear alumnus, Osuolale Olamide Aderemi. The loss of a promising alumnus of our association is profoundly felt by all. Although he inducted just few months ago, it is truly heartbreaking to learn of his untimely and tragic death by suicide.”
“Words cannot express the shock and grief we feel at this untimely loss. To his family and friends, we offer our deepest condolences and support during this incredibly difficult time. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.”
“In this difficult time, let us come together to remember his contributions, achievements, and the positive impact he had on those around him and the association.”
