The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) has been plunged into mourning once again following the tragic death of another student, Olajide Jesujuwonlo, from the Department of Religious Studies.
This heartbreaking news comes barely a week after the university lost Esu Ema, a final-year student from the Department of Foreign Languages.
The campus, which was still reeling from the shock and grief of Ema’s passing, has been further shaken by the sudden death of Jesujuwonlo.
The President of National Association For Students Of Religious Studies, OAU, Comrade Akinnibi Miftau confirmed in a statement that Jesujuwonlo died on Tuesday evening after a brief illness.
He wrote, “It is with profound sadness and shock that we announce the sudden passing of Olajide Jesujuwonlo, a Part 3 student of the Religious Studies department at Obafemi Awolowo University.
“Olajide’s untimely death occurred today, following a brief illness that took his life. His passing has left us in a state of disbelief and grief.
“The university community has lost a bright and promising student, and Olajide’s absence will be deeply felt by his colleagues, friends, and family.
