The management of Obafemi Owolowo University (OAU), Ile Ife has postponed the resumption date of fresh students to April 29.
This was disclosed in an highlight of the proposed amendment to approve calendar of 2017/2018 session after the Senate meeting on Wednesday.
According to a reliable source who is an official of the university who stated that the shift in the date is owing to the renovation exercise promised by the management.
However, all attempts made by our correspondent to reach the Public Relations Officer of the university, Abiodun Olanrewaju, proved abortive. The spokesperson has refused to pick calls and reply text messages sent.
It should be recalled that this news outfit reported the plans of the management to give the hostels a face-lift. This led to the forceful eviction of students from Moremi hall and Alumni hall of residence.
