Oba Fashade Would Be Remembered For His Legacies – Oyetola

  • Condoles with Osun APC chair, Prince Famodun

Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of the State of Osun has mourned the passing of Owa of Igbajo, Oba Olufemi Fashade, saying that the traditional ruler would be remembered for his legacies.

Similarly, the Governor condoled with the Osun Caretaker Committee Chairman of the All Progressives Congress and Prince of Igbajo, Gboyega Famodun, over the death of the traditional ruler.

Oyetola in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ismail Omipidan, on Tuesday, commiserated with the immediate family of the monarch and the people of Igbajo town in Boluwaduro Local Government Area of the State.

The governor described Oba Fashade as a great and development-oriented leader, noting that for three decades, he provided exceptional leadership, promoted the development of Igbajo and fostered peace and unity among his subjects.

He added that under his reign, Igbajo witnessed several positive and transformational developments, including the establishment of the community-owned Igbajo Polytechnic in 2005.

Oyetola said the traditional ruler would long be remembered for his legacies and his commitment to the development of Igbajo and its people.

“I received with great shock the passing of Owa of Igbajo, Oba Olufemi Fashade, whose death was announced on Monday. Although he was an old man, the death of a beloved one is usually devastating no matter how old the person may be.

“We should be consoled by the fact that he lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation.

“My deep condolences go to the Osun Caretaker Committee Chairman of the All Progressives Congress and a Prince of Igbajo, Gboyega Famodun, the entire Igbajo community as well as the immediate family of the late monarch. I pray God to grant his soul eternal rest and console his family and all those who mourn his demise,” Oyetola added.
