The newly-inaugurated Chairman, Obokun Local Government, Mrs Olatunde Adejoke has promised the people of the council area, both physical and human development.
She made the promise shortly after taking the oath of office as the Chairman of the council recently.
Barrister Adejoke who appreciated God and the people of the council for her emergence as the council boss after the entrenchment of parliamentary system at the local government level, said all efforts would be made by her administration to justify the confidence reposed in her by the people of the council and most especially her colleagues in the parliament.
The council boss implored the citizens of Obokun Local Government both at home and in diaspora to rally round the administration in order to make her dream for the council becomes a reality.
According to a statement by the Principal Information Officer of the council, Bayo Oladotun, the newly-elected chairman also used the opportunity to call on all indigenes in diaspora to come home and embark on developmental projects that would help in the transformation of the area to a better haven.
Lauding Governor Rauf Aregbesola for his visionary and dynamic leadership towards the development of the state, the council boss noted that the efforts of the government at the state level would be complemented by her administration in the local government to ensure that people get to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
Other members of the newly-inaugurated council’s parliament are, Mr Ogunwuyi Babatunde as the Vice Chairman, Alhaji Oladiran Ashaolu as the leader, Mrs. Ogundipe Tobi as the deputy leader and Owoeye Kolawole as a member of the parliament.
Present at the inauguration ceremony were traditional rulers; the Apetu of Ipetu-Ile, Oba Oludele Falade; Alademure of Ibokun, Oba Festus Awogboro; Alase of Ilase-Ijesha, HRM, Isiaka Adesina; Olomu of Ijaregbe, Oba E.A. Adetimo; and Alahun of Ilahun, Oba Lawrence Olamiju.
Among party members and leaders at the event were, members of the Osun House of Assembly representing Obokun Constituency, Honourable Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, Chief Jumoke Ogunkeye (J.M.K.); Honourable Oladimeji Olamijulo; Chief Bosun Omole; Barrister (Mrs.) Dupe Ajayi; Engr. Olatunde and Mr Agbaje Olatunde among others.
