The management of the Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, has vowed to discipline three students of the institution who were arrested by the police for assaulting a lady over a dispute regarding a boyfriend.

OSUN DEFENDER had reported a viral video which showed some female students flogging the victim.

The victim was said to be dating one of the student’s boyfriend.

The victim was left with visible injuries on her back, face and head.

Following the incident, the Ogun State Police Command arrested the students.

The institution’s Public Relations Officer, Gbadebo Adebayo, in an exclusive conversation with PUNCH Metro on Monday, said the students will be punished if they are found guilty.

Adebayo said that upon receipt of the incident, the management was working with the police to ensure that the assaulted lady got justice.

He added that the institution was also waiting for the outcome of the police investigation and that it would not hesitate to mete out necessary disciplinary actions in line with the institution’s code of conduct.

“The management is waiting for the police to complete their investigation and the students involved will also face disciplinary action according to the Institute’s code of conduct.

“OGITECH management once again notifies the general public and the students that we have zero tolerance for any form of anti-social behaviour, including physical fights or assaults, whether on campus or outside the school premises.

“Any student found engaging in such behaviour will face disciplinary action under the Student Code of Conduct,” Adebayo said.
