Okanlawon Presents ₦6.84bn 2026 Budget To Ifelodun LG Legislature
The Executive Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, Hon. Kamorudeen Okanlawon, has presented the 2026 estimated budget of ₦6,838,674,224 to the Ifelodun Local Government Legislative Arm.
The presentation took place at the Local Government Secretariat during a legislative sitting attended by council officials and stakeholders.
Tagged the “Progressive Budget of Ifelodun Local Government,” the financial plan underscores the administration’s focus on inclusive governance and sustainable development.
Addressing lawmakers, Okanlawon described the budget as a strategic tool aimed at accelerating socio-economic growth and improving the welfare of residents.
He said priority sectors include infrastructure development, healthcare, education, agriculture, social services and empowerment programmes.
According to him, the allocations were carefully structured to meet immediate community needs while also supporting long-term development objectives across the local government.
“This Progressive Budget is people-focused and development-driven. It reflects our resolve to strengthen infrastructure, enhance human capital development, empower youths and women, support farmers, and improve access to quality healthcare and education,” the chairman said.
Responding, the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Silifat Agboola, commended the executive for presenting what she described as a realistic and development-oriented budget.
She praised the administration for its transparency and commitment to democratic governance.
Agboola assured that the Legislative Council would give the budget prompt and thorough consideration in the interest of the people.
The event was witnessed by members of the executive and legislative councils, senior local government officials and other stakeholders, reflecting cordial cooperation between both arms of government.
