Olamide Ignored My Calls For Six Months After Using My Name In His Song – Yemi My Lover

Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Ayebo, popularly known as Yemi My Lover, has called out singer Olamide for ignoring his calls after referencing him in a song.
In a viral interview posted on social media, the actor claimed he had never received any compensation from musicians or content creators who use his name, despite its growing popularity online.
“Olamide was the first to use my name in his song, and I was so happy. My name is blessed by God, that’s why Davido, Olamide, and skit makers use it,” he said.
Yemi said he tried reaching out to Olamide through Fuji star Pasuma after the singer featured his name in a track.
“Pasuma asked, ‘Yemo, did Olamide settle you for singing with your name?’ I told him no, I’ve never even seen him before. We don’t have each other’s contact. Pasuma then called Olamide and told him I reported him,” Yemi explained.
According to the actor, Olamide spoke to him for the first time during that call and asked him to get his number from Pasuma.
“I collected the number and called Olamide for over six months. He didn’t pick up, he didn’t reply to my messages,” Yemi said.
Despite the snub, Yemi acknowledged that the mentions have boosted his popularity.
