Olawande Takes CSI To Lagos NYSC Camp, Harps On Youth Innovation, Creativity
The Minister of State for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, in partnership with the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation and MSMEs, Mr. Temitope Adekunle-Johnson, has expanded the Corpreneur Support Initiative (CSI) to the Lagos camp of NYSC, enlisting more beneficiaries in the initiative, which was earlier launched in Oyo.
According to a statement signed by the Director of Press and Publicity in the Ministry, Omolara Esan, the CSI, which is aimed at assisting corps members who had existing businesses and those who emerged tops from the on-camp Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) of the NYSC, targets job multiplication by enhancing the capacity of young business owners to strengthen and stabilize.
Addressing corps members at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Iyana Ipaja, Lagos State, the Minister said the corps members already have a great environmental influence to drive them towards success in their businesses; stating that Lagos State, as the commercial and business capital of Nigeria offers a compelling advantage to young business owners.
“You guys are as fresh as your ideas, and that is why we believe offering the needed support would help you advance your ideas to something more concrete and beneficial to both yourselves and the country.
“Whether you have a business before you enrol in the NYSC or you picked up a skill while in camp through the SAED program of the NYSC, Corpreneur Support is the help we offer to advance your success,” Olawande said.
While appreciating the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation and MSME, Mr. Temitope Adekunle-Johnson, for supporting the initiative, the Minister said Nigerian youth have the required capacity and knowledge to achieve great success, provided they receive the required support. He therefore pledged that the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would continue to create opportunities for the youth to thrive and excel.
