Two old men, Nasiru Bakare 76, and Ismail Bakare, 66, were arraigned by the Osun state police Command over alleged stealing and cheating.
The charge sheet made available to journalists revealed that the accused persons sold one plot of land, located at Oluode Aranyin, Osogbo to Mercyland Baptist Church members at the rate of N400,000 and converted the proceeds to their own use without the consent of the owner, one late Azeez Oladele.
It was also revealed that the accused persons cheated on one Bello Rauf whom the accused persons sold one plot of land that belongs to his late father, one Azeez Oladele at the rate of N400,000 and converted the money to their own use.
The charge sheet stated that the accused persons tampered with the corpse of one late Azeez Oladele when the accused persons sold his burial ground to Mercy land Baptist Church members and allowed them to build on it.
According to the charge sheet, the offence was committed at Oluode Aranyin area, Osogbo in the month of February, 2012.
It was revealed that the offence was contrary to and punishable under section 516 of criminal code cap 34. Vol. 11 laws of Osun state of Nigeria, 2003.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.A Awodele ordered that the prosecutor in charge of the case should go and do more findings about the owner of the land.
She stated that she wanted to be sure of who the owner of the land is before making a judgement.
She later adjourned the case till December 11, 2018 for mention.
