Oloba Oke Charges Youths On Unity

The Oloba of Oba-Oke in Olorunda-North Local Council Development Area of the State of Osun, Oba Adam Iyiola Yusuf has appealed to the youth of the town to always imbibe the spirit of unity and work towards the development of the ancient town. 

 

Oba Adam Iyiola gave the charge while hosting members of the Oba Oke Youth Development Union (OYDU) who were on a solidarity visit to his palace. Flanked by his chiefs and elders of the town, the monarch called on citizens of the ancient town to always remember their source and facilitate developmental projects to the town to aid its progress.

 

The monarch also appealed to the state government of Osun to revisit its plan on the Owala dam located in the town and make it a revenue-generating project for the State. In his remarks, the chairman of Oba Oke Youth Development Union, Alhaji Taofiq Hassan said, the forum came to affirm its loyalty and solidarity to the Oloba Oke in council saying the forum will continue to support the leadership of Oba Adam Iyiola who has been a solid pillar to the forum since 2013.

 

Also speaking, Mr. Jamiu Ogo Oluwa used the opportunity to appeal to the Oloba Oke in council to help in the forum’s efforts at strengthening the familiarisation with all 13 villages under Oba Oke, to permit the forum to embark on some projects as well as to maintain peace with neighbouring towns.

 

In their responses, Naibul Imam of Oba Oke Alhaji Badmus Ajisafe, Chief Tajudeen Osolo, Chief Yaya Olori Odo, Chief Mrs Risikat Babatunde among others saluted the courage of OYDU and urged them not to relax in the effort to ensure the development of the community.
