In continuation of his developmental strides across Olorunda North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), the Honourable Quadri Owonikoko-led administration in the council area has embarked on the grading of some roads in Oba Oke and Oba-Ile communities.
Addressing the newsmen at the flag-off of the grading exercise, Owonikoko, the Executive Secretary of the council said, the rationale behind the grading of roads was to ensure easy access for the people of the two communities with their suburb communities.
According to a statement by the Information Officer of the council, Toyin Adejobi, Owonikoko said, the road network would encourage those who have landed properties in the area to develop it and subsequently develop the economy of the area.
He, however, appealed to the people of Olorunda North to pay their taxes and dues as and when due with a view to ensuring that the administration extends the hands of development to the other parts of the council.
The road graded were Ogudu-Laka boundary Oba-Ile; bulldozing of Obedu shrine road Oba-ile in preparation for Obedu Festival, grading of Aderounmu Road and Femiti-Lagunle Road, Oba-Oke.
Also speaking, the Supervisory Councillor for Health and Environment, Shakirat Adeoye commended the leadership style of Owonikoko, describing him as a man of his people and lover of development.
Reacting on behalf of Oba-Ile Community, Elder Bidoye Babalola appreciated the administration Owonikoko for the unprecedented projects being embarked upon, describing the council boss as a God-sent.
He also appreciated Governor Rauf Aregbesola for creating additional LCDAs and appointing caretaker members, saying, the gesture has boosted development in the area.
He then promised the people’s support to the administration in all ramifications
