Omipidan Is A Jobber Who Gets Paid For Dirty PR Jobs – Omisore’s Ally, Yemi Lawal
- Says Ex-Spokesperson Once Condemned Oyetola, Sought Omisore’s Help
Former Osun Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Yemi Lawal, has described the former spokesperson to the immediate past governor of the state, Ismail Omipidan, as a jobber who gets paid to do dirty public relations jobs for people.
Lawal, who is an ally of former national secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Iyiola Omisore, also said Omipidan was fond of attacking his principal without any basis.
He stated this on Tuesday when he appeared on Western Spring Television’s Morning Spring programme.
Lawal who was reacting to Omipidan’s earlier submissions on the same programme, said the former spokesperson says things are above his pay grade.
Omipidan had said during the show on Monday, that Omisore was imposed as the national secretary of the APC.
He also said his former principal and ex-governor of Osun State, Mr Gboyega Oyetola was instrumental to the emergence of Omisore as the national secretary in 2022.
“There is nothing Omisore is complaining about today that he hasn’t benefited from. When he was made the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, he wasn’t the best candidate at the time. I was involved in his emergence. I knew what Oyetola did before he emerged.
“So, if he says they are imposing somebody on him today, he has been imposed on some people in the past,” Omisore said on the programme.
But Lawal while reacting, said, “As far as I am concerned, I don’t think people should take Ismail Omipidan seriously any longer. Omipidan, for me, is not an Osun man. He was born and raised in Benue, so he doesn’t know anything about Osun.
“I want to believe I know more people from Ila Orangun than Omipidan himself. He is fond of attacking Omisore and he should stop.
“He is a jobber. He came to me last year and asked me to take him to Omisore. This same guy complained so much about Gboyega Oyetola. He complained to me personally.
“He complained about some contract that he had executed and he hadn’t been paid. I know he is a man who gets money to do dirty public relations jobs for people and he should stop. I have it on record.
“He came from Abuja and I took him to Senator Iyiola Omisore where he complained and asked Omisore to support him on other projects. He came here to talk about him contributing to the emergence of Senator Omisore as the National Secretary, all these things are above his pay grade.”
Efforts to get the reaction of Mr Omipidan proved abortive at the time of filing this report.
