Senator-elect Ovie Omo-Agege was on Tuesday elected the deputy senate president of the 9th National Assembly. The controversial senator, once alleged to have stolen the mace, a symbol of authority in the Senate in 2018, beat off opposition from his predecessor Ike Ekweremadu to emerge winner of the election.
Omo-Agege is believed to be one of the candidates “anointed” by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the position of deputy senate president.
