The Omoluabi Progressives Caucus is open to all stakeholders in the political landscape of Osun in its bid to reclaim the state in 2026.
The chairman of the caucus, Alhaji Azeez Adesiji, made this declaration while addressing members of the caucus in Ife Federal Constituency, during its ongoing tour.
Adesiji pointed out that the vision of the Omoluabi Progressives is clear and hinged towards returning progressive politics in the state, resting on the foundation of progressive politics in Nigeria.
He also admonished the members who trooped out en-masse to the venue, not to relent in actualising the caucus’ vision.
The former council boss pledged to be open and transparent, urging members to key into the group’s core values of discipline, integrity, accountability, and responsible leadership.
Adesiji said, “We are open to everyone and anyone ready to share in our vision. Our leader, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, is a man who preaches and acts responsibly in leadership and governance. It is also important to be tolerant of one another and have the spirit of forgiveness ”
“People of like minds who are disciplined and full of integrity are open to joining us. We have members and functioning structures throughout the state. We are more than convinced that, with a commitment to mobilisation and transparency, we will get there. We need to be more united than ever.
“The APC lost the last election in Osun because of intolerance and unforgiving spirit of its leaders. That is why we are returning to our roots, seeking the cause of progressive change through engagement with our people at the grassroots, as well as, opening our doors for conflict resolution anytime there are grievances. My phone number is always available, and the office is open to all complaints from members to ensure that issues are resolved with immediate effect, Lack of conflict resolution ability was the reason why the APC lost the last gubernatorial contest in Osun in the last electoral contest.
The State Coordinating Team of Omoluabi Progressives visited the Hausa Community in Ile-Ife, as well as Oba Yaya Elugbaju, the Obajio of More Kingdom, Lowa of Adimula of Ifeland, and Olawuni Toyin “Gemstar.” They all applauded the contributions of Ogbeni Aregbesola, to the development of Osun and prayed for the Omoluabi Progressives.
They urged members of the caucus to keep the flag flying, noting that the successes of Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola’s administration from 2010 to 2018 in the state, are full of everlasting legacies that are capable of returning the progressives to power in the state if political campaigns and activities are handled by grassroots and worthy politicians.
The Coordinator of Omoluabi Progressives in Ife Federal Constituency, Mr. Sunday Omowaiye, pledged the commitment of members in the area to maintain the ideals of the caucus while working assiduously to realise its objectives.
