The leadership of the Omoluabi Progressives, a caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun, inaugurated its standing committees to further advance and entrench its vision of returning the state back to the progressives fold in 2026.
This was part of the decisions reached at its monthly meeting, in Ilesa on Sunday, which had its patron and the immediate-past Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, in attendance, with a call on members of the committees to work assiduously to see to the success of its vision, according to a statement by the group’s Publicity Secretary, Abosede Oluwaseun.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the Management Committee of Omoluabi Progressives Caucus, Alhaji Azeez Adesiji, urged members of the caucus to uphold the ethos of the group which is discipline.
Adesiji noted that the aim of the caucus is to return the progressives back to power for the rapid transformation of Osun.
The leader of Omoluabi Progressives sought the maximum support of the members of the caucus, noting that all hands must be on deck to realise the vision of the platform.
He also thanked the patron of the Omoluabi Progressives, Ogbeni Aregbesola, for his support and leadership to the group since inception.
Adesiji said, “I want to thank and appreciate everyone in Omoluabi for their support in making me the leader of this caucus. I am elated and promise to be your servant.
“I want to assure you that I will be a servant, and uphold every virtue of Omoluabi which is our core. We must ensure that we continue to work assiduously to achieve our collective goal and vision, which is to return to power in the state. Let us not forget our core motto which is discipline.
“Very soon, all of our members will get their membership registration cards while consultations, committees and other important steps are taken to continue to facilitate our return to power. We were firm and resolute when the military was in power. We are convinced that with God and your support, we will return to power in 2026,” Adesiji noted.
Responding on behalf of the committees, the former Secretary to the State Government of Osun, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, urged all committee members to work hand-in-hand with members to reclaim power in the state.
Adeoti also sought the cooperation of all members as well as strict adherence to the rules of engagement of the caucus, stressing that it is time for work.
Mr. Tope Adejumo, a former Special Adviser to the Governor on Security in Osun, who also spoke at the meeting, charged members of Omoluabi Progressives not to relent in their quest for the entrenchment of good governance in the state.
The event featured the inauguration of the remaining members of the Management Committee of Omoluabi Progressives, Osun; Special Prayers for the group and its patron; and admission of new members from Ila Local Government, among others.
Dignitaries at the meeting included the immediate-past Senator representing Osun West Senatorial District, Engr. Adelere Oriolowo, Elder Adelowo Adebiyi, former Osun cabinet members, Barr. Gbenga Akano, Mr. Kunle Ige, Engr. Kazeem Salami, Mr. Adelani Baderinwa, members of the management Committee of Omoluabi Progressives, among others.
