Omoluabi Progressives Launches Oyo Chapter, Gets ADC Backing For 2027
The leading political organisation in Osun State, Omoluabi Progressives has launched its Oyo State Chapter in Ibadan, with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), pledging support for the movement’s value-driven politics ahead of the 2027 governorship race.
The development was contained in a statement signed by the Organising and Publicity Secretary, Abosede Oluwaseun, on Friday.
According to the statement, its Chairman, Alhaji Azeez Adesiji led the event in partnership with Hon Bolanle Aminat Sarumi (BASA), former Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora and Investment to the Oyo State Government.
Delegations from all five zones — Ibadan, Oke Ogun, Ibarapa, Ogbomosho and Oyo — as well as all fourteen federal Constituencies attended.
Oyo ADC Chairman, Alhaji Yinka Olona, was quoted as saying, “Every good Yoruba blood should be an Omoluabi,” pledging to entrench the group’s principles in the party to secure victory in 2027.
Sarumi criticised the PDP-led government in Oyo State for failing to involve women in governance, praised the ADC leadership’s commitment to a 35% quota for women and youths, and urged women in Oyo and across Nigeria to take an active role in politics.
Azeez described Omoluabi Progressives as a grassroots platform to preach virtue, uphold truth and instil discipline in politics, blaming the absence of such values for governance failures.
