Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, who is running for re-election under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed confidence in his chances of winning the ongoing governorship election.
After casting his vote at Polling Unit 05 in Obenla, Ilaje Local Government Area, Aiyedatiwa emphasized that the love and support he had received from the people would be reflected in the votes.
He believes that his work over the past 10 months, which he described as focused on rapid development, has given him a clear advantage in the race.
“I believe the election will be peaceful and credible. From what I gathered, it revealed that other locations have materials. They should go out and vote. I believe with what we have done in the last 10 months. The voters know who they want as their governor, and I know they will translate their support to vote for me.
“I am at an advantage to win this election because I have worked for the people. The last 10 months had been about rapid development. I was the only candidate that covered the entire state. I believed they would translate the love to vote for me today,” Aiyedatiwa stated.

He also commended the peaceful conduct of the election, noting that the reports he had received indicated a calm and orderly atmosphere at polling stations.
Aiyedatiwa expressed optimism that the election would remain credible and urged voters to go out and cast their ballots.
“I also know the same situation will be at other locations in the state. The people will comport themselves. We are peaceful in Ondo State. We have been having our election in a peaceful environment,” he said.
Voters began arriving at polling units early, with a strong presence of security personnel and election observers ensuring a peaceful process.
