Only Coalition Can Defeat Tinubu in 2027 — Dele Momodu
A former presidential aspirant and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Dele Momodu, has declared that only a strong coalition of political parties can dislodge President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress in 2027.
Speaking in Ibadan on the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State’s programme, Guest of the Month, Momodu said the PDP, though capable, is too divided to pose a serious challenge to the ruling party.
“My soul has left the PDP; it’s only my body that remains. If the PDP were united, it could defeat the APC in 2027, but too many forces within and outside are fighting against this,” he said.
He alleged that the APC fears the PDP’s potential and is working to divide it.
“There’s no way a disunited PDP can wrest power from the APC. The ruling party’s strategy is to weaken the opposition,” he stated.
Momodu warned that some PDP members are being used to sabotage the party’s chances from within, but said the party remains committed to due process.
He stressed that unless a formidable team and coalition is formed, defeating Tinubu in 2027 will be nearly impossible.
“The opposition must present a candidate from a different region to effectively challenge the president,” he added.
