Nigerian youngster Henry Onyekuru has continued his impressive goalscoring streak as he netted another goal as his side KAS Eupen lets go of a two-nil lead to draw 3-3 with KV Kortrijk in Belgium on Saturday.
The relegation play-off game between the two sides turned out to be a classic as fans will remember the game for the way it swung back and forth.
Kortrijk, playing at home, found themselves two goals behind after 15 minutes as Eric Ocansey and Onyekuru scored for the visitors.
Stijn de Smet then got Kortrijk back into the game with a well-taken goal to cut the lead in half but Eupen regained their two-goal lead through Luis Garcia in the 74th minute.
The game ended in dramatic fashion as Kortrijk scored two late goals in added time for the draw.
Andriy Totovitskiy’s goal in the 90th minute and another by Sidi Sarr a minute later saved the home side’s blushes as they snatched a point at the death.
Onyekuru’s form has seen him attract interest from Germany, England and Scotland as it appears the striker might not play in the Jupiler Liga next season.
He has scored 19 goals in all competitions this season with seven assists.
