By Sodiq Lawal

Tragedy struck the ancient city of Ile Ife and the palace of Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwunsi as one of the press officers of the monarch, Mr Akinola Elumide Babatunde died early on Wednesday morning.

Sources said the late press officer shouted from bathroom and did not make it to Hospital.

According to the statement issued by the Director of Media and Publicity to Ooni, Comrade Moses Olafare, said that: “My dear Akinola Elumide Babatunde, You are a colleague, friend and brother, I will forever value even though you are no more with us.

” The history of our success in the MEDIA office of the PALACE is incomplete without an emphatic reference to you, especially from January this year when you joined US.

“Your untimely death is being felt so painfully and sorrowfully for you have left us too suddenly. But we are consoled by the hugeness of the goodwill such a very young man like you greatly had exhibited while on this earth as well attested to by all.

“May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace as I pray the Almighty Olodumare shall uphold your aged parents and siblings and give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss your sad death has brought. We we all miss you my BOY.”
