Ooni To Unveil NGO For Civic Orientation, Inclusive Governance

Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has concluded plans to unveil a nongovernmental organisation with the name; Ooni Ojaja Development Initiative.

The Ooni Ojaja Development Initiative is a project structured to address the gap between government and the governed, enhance more youth and women’s participation in processes leading to governance and make the government more acceptable to the masses among others.

This was contained in a press release issued by the Director of Media and Public Affairs of the monarch, Otunba Moses Olafare on Wednesday.

According to Olafare, the NGO which has been registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission is committed to enhancing local communities and Nigerians through safe and inclusive civic participation, advocacy campaigns, evidence-based research, capacity building and stakeholder engagements.

Olafare said the organisation is prepared to achieve the duties by enhancing Nigerians access to information, providing enabling structures and implementing sustainable initiatives.

The spokesperson said Oba Adeyeye has appointed Dr. Olushola Aluko as the Director General to head the NGO.

Aluko, is a veteran newscaster and ex-worker of AIT Network Service.
