Oranmiyan Hosts Aregbesola After Handover
No fewer than 5,000 members of the Oranmiyan group across Osun state will receive Governor Rauf Aregbesola at his town , Ilesa after exiting office on Tuesday, Nov. 27.
Today, November 27, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola would begin his journey back home from the seat of power in Osogbo, after the expiration of his tenure as governor of the Osun state.
The former Governor, as he would then be known, would be given a heroic welcome by members of the Oranmiyan group in their thousands.
Members of the group would converge at Osunjela town, where they would receive the Governor, before proceeding to his hometown , Ilesa where he would be received by the Owa of Ijesa land, Oba Dr Adekunle Aranmolaran, traditional rulers , chiefs and his kinsmen and finally give him civic reception at Zenabbab Hotel, Ilesa.
Speaking with journalists on Sunday in Osogbo, the group’s spokesman, Mr Olajide Sadiq said the group decision to give Aregbesola a warmth welcome was in recognition of his laudable performance while in government, hence the need to appreciate him.
He noted that over 5,000 members of Oranmiyan across the 30 local government area and 32 Local Council Development have volunteered to make themselves available on Tuesday November 27 to give Aregbesola civic reception.
He further explained that the joyous members of Oranmiyan would coverage at Osunjela town to receive the Governor immediately after the handing over at the Osogbo township stadium where they would lead the Governor to his own town.
He said: “Our members are very happy for the fruitful completion of Governor Rauf Aregbesola tenure.”
“Our mentor, principal, grand patron and Oranmiyan symbol would receive a heroic welcome from thousands members of Oranmiyan group.”
“We are happy because there are some people who died on the seat, they didn’t go back to their people alive. And we want to thank God again, because Aregbesola is somebody that is very passionate about the development of the state.”
“We want to celebrate a nationalist, philanthropist, and the lover of development. He has done tremendously well in Osun in the last eight year and he has not disappointed us, we are proud of him.”
“Aregbesola is an embodiment of ideas , his developmental projects cut across every nooks and crannies of the state, he did not centre his developmental projects to Ilesa, his own town alone.”
“As matter of fact, the state has undergone positive changes under Aregbesola’s leadership”.
“We want to use the occasion to showcase the affection of Oranmiyan people to Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and thank God for successfully completing his tenure in office,” Sadiq said.”
