Orolu LG Embarks On High Court Building Construction

Management of Orolu Local Government Council Area of Osun under the leadership of Honourable Adekunle Benson has flagged off the construction of a new High Court of Justice building sited in Ifon, the headquarters of the council.

The Olufon of Ifon Oroluland, Oba Almaroof Magbagbeola, Special Adviser to the governor on Innovation, Science and Technology, Mr Muydeen Olateju were all part of the historic occasion, a statement by the Media Assistant to the chairman, Mr Alao Waheed said.

According to the Chairman, the project which he described as infrastructure revolution in the judiciary was to create conducive environment for effective administration of justice in the state through provision of suitable infrastructure and essential tools.

The chairman noted that with the project, justice will be brought closer to the grassroots and justice would neither be delayed nor denied.

He further stated that the project would complement the efforts of the state government of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and effectively serve the administration of justice at the grassroots.

“The state of Osun has one of the most vibrant judiciary in the country, which became possible because successive administrations in the state devoted attention to judicial officers’ welfare, provision of befitting structures for work, and creating a functional and dynamic legal system. “So, our effort is meant to serve justice administration in the community and complement the efforts at the state level”, the chairman quoted.

He further expressed hope that the measures would help to enhance the dignity of the state judiciary and promote efficiency.

He therefore reiterated government commitment to bring justice to the doorstep and do all that would be necessary to ensure that judiciary in Osun is not just empowered to deliver its mandate as an independent arm, but also ranks among the best in the country.

The special adviser to the governor on Innovation, Science and Technology, Hon Olateju Muydeen called on the chairmen of various local government areas in the state to emulate Orolu local government and assist in the renovation of existing court buildings in their areas which are dilapidated and even erect new ones to complement the efforts of the government in bringing development and justice closer to the people.

He said the judiciary should put the facilities to good use, and the judges should maximise their potentials for the society to be better for it.

The Vice Chairman of the council, Hon. Toyin Adekola, the leader, Hon Rafiu Durodola as well as the supervisory councilor for works, Hon. Anthony Akinola commended the project and promised to collaborate with contractors to ensure the completion of the project.
