Oronsaye Report: Shehu Sani Calls For Caution, Says Thousands Likely To Lose Jobs
President Bola Tinubu has been urged to be cautious about the full implementation of the Oronsaye report.
Former Kaduna Senator, Shehu Sani, who made the plea, said thousands of federal civil servants are likely to lose their jobs with the full implementation of the report.
Osun Defender reports that Tinubu, on Monday, ordered the full implementation of the report of the Presidential Committee on the Rationalisation and Restructuring of Federal Government Parastatals, Commissions, and Agencies, headed by retired accountant Stephen Oronsaye.
Sani, while reacting to the development, also commended the President for the order, saying it would cut the cost of governance and harmonise federal ministries, departments, and agencies.
In a post on his X account on Monday night, Sani cautioned that job losses among thousands of federal civil servants are imminent.
He wrote, “The Oronsaye report has gathered dust for over a decade. It’s commendable that now it will see the light of the day.
“This is a significant step towards cutting the cost of governance and harmonising federal MDAs. But care should be taken in that aspect where thousands of Federal Civil servants will lose their jobs.”
