The duo of Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho have been ruled out of Monday’s friendly against the Mambas of Mozambique.
Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, however, claimed he has suitable replacements for the game slated for the Estadio Municipal de Albufeira.
A press release by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), noted that the l players have left the team’s camp in Portugal.
Osimhen sustained a hamstring injury in the Super Eagles’ 2-2 draw against Saudi Arabia on Friday.
Iheanacho was released from camp for personal reasons.
Peseiro, however, stated that there is enough quality in the team to cope with the two players’ absence.
“We will miss Kelechi and Victor, but we have other good players who can make Nigeria proud. I look at the bench and see players who can step up and take their chances,” Peseiro told thenff.com.
Monday’s meeting will be the fifth clash between Nigeria and Mozambique at senior level.
