Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has jetted out of Nigeria to London on the invitation of President Muhammadu Buhari to discuss urgent national issues. This was disclosed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity in the Office of the Vice President, Mr. Laolu Akande, on his twitter handle @ akandeoj. “Ag President Osinbajo is meeting with President Buhari in London today, and returning to Abuja immediately afterwards,” he tweeted.
The President has been away for more about 65 days attending to his health in London. On Monday, wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, said on Facebook page on Monday that the President was recovering and would soon return to the country. She said “the hyenas and the jackals” would soon be evicted from the kingdom, while responding to an earlier post made by the senator representing Kaduna Central, Mr. Shehu Sani.
Meanwhile, Osinbajo, yesterday, approved the appointment of 19 new judges for the National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NIC). Appointment of the new NIC Judges was based on recommendation of the National Judicial Council (NJC). According to a statement by the Director of Information at the NJC, Mr. Soji Oye, the new judges will be sworn-in by the Chief Justice of Nigeria and the Chairman, National Judicial Council, Justice Walter Nkanu Onnoghen, at the Supreme Court, on Friday, July 14.
Among those that were elevated to the post of justice of the Industrial Court are; Targema John Iornge (Benue state), Namtari Mahmood Abba (Adamawa state), Nweneka Gerald Ikechi (Rivers state) and Kado Sanusi (Katsina state). Others are Adeniyi Sinmisola Oluyinka (Ogun state), Abiola Adunola Adewemimo (Osun state), Opeloye Ogunbowale A. (Lagos state), Essien Isaac Jeremiah (Akwa Ibom state) and Elizabeth Ama Oji (Ebonyi state).
Also elevated were Arowosegbe Olukayode Ojo (Ondo state), Ogbuanya Nelson S. Chukwudi (Enugu state) Bashir Zaynab Mohamme (Niger state), Galadima Ibrahim Suleiman (Nasarawa state), Bassi Paul Ahmed (Borno state). There were also Danjidda Salisu Hamisu (Kano state), Hamman Idi Polycarp (Taraba state), Damulak Kiyersohot Dashe (Plateau state), Alkali Bashar Attahiru (Sokoto state), and Mustapha Tijjani (Jigawa state).
