OSOGRAMS A Level Class 84-86 Renovates Laboratories

The 1984-1986 Advanced Level Students of Osogbo Grammar School (OSOGRAMS) on Friday, commissioned the renovated Biology and Physics laboratories of the school.

The project, according to the National President of the Advance Level 1984-1986 set, Pastor Ebenezer Ashiyanbi, was a way of giving back to the school.

Ashiyanbi who noted that about N3m was expended on the project, called on old students to assist their alma mater in making learning conducive for the students, adding that the government cannot do it alone.

He said: “When we started, our thought was to renovate the Chemistry laboratory and the day we were commissioning it, the school Board of Governors Chairman told us to find a way to renovate the other laboratories also.

“Thereafter, we started the renovation of the Physics and Biology Laboratory and here we are today. We have expanded about N3 million on this project and in no distant future, we will be coming back again.

“The message we are trying to pass across is that Government alone might not be able to do all that is required. We know where we are as of today and if we put hands together, we will be able to give the students a conducive environment of learning.”

Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mr. Murtala Jimoh, said the Ministry was identifying with Old Student Associations that are supporting the government.

He appreciated the A Levels Class 1984-1986 for their contribution in the advancement of education in the state.

According to him, “The Ministry of Education is identifying with Old Student Associations that are supporting the government to ensure that the education level is uplifted and we appreciate those who are supporting the government in that manner.

“The ministry is collating the projects being done by Old Students across the state. I want to appreciate the Advanced Level 1984-1986 set of this school for their commitment.

“Government can not do it all and we are happy to identify with you. We appreciate this and we know that you will still do more for the school.”

The school Principal, Mrs F.A Daodu, who appreciated the set for their gesture, promised optimal utilisation of the Laboratories.

She said, “From the bad condition the Laboratory was, these notable alumnus gave a total and completely new look to the Laboratory. The school management and the entire student body offer a big thank you for the project.”
