Folaranmi said that, “As a student of his in the Department of Mass Communication. I had the privilege of experiencing firsthand his dedication, wisdom, and passion for teaching. Pa Bankefa’s impact on our department and the institution as a whole is immeasurable, and his legacy will continue to inspire us all.

“He was not just a lecturer but a mentor who guided us with his profound knowledge and years of experience in journalism and mass communication. His commitment to his students went beyond the classroom; he was a guardian and a counsellor, always ready to provide guidance and support.

“While he was known to be strict and demanded excellence, especially from those he sensed could do better, his tough love was always rooted in a desire to see his students succeed. He was a true nightmare for lazy students, pushing us to strive for our best and uphold the standards of our profession.

“His contributions as the pioneer Director of Publications and later as the Head of the Department will forever be remembered as milestones in the growth of our institution. His presence and influence will be greatly missed, but his teachings and the values he instilled in us will endure.

“On behalf of all the students who had the honour of learning from him, I extend my deepest condolences to his family, friends, and the entire academic community. May his soul rest in perfect peace.”
