A former close associate of Senator Iyiola Omisore, Mr Diran Odeyemi has said the body language of the Ife-born politician has not cemented his association with the Social Democratic Party SDP.
Odeyemi, the Deputy National Publicity of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP said his from his perception, he is not convinced that Omisore has dumped the opposition party in the state.
On April 5, 2018, his loyalists burnt Four flags of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at Omisore’s Campaign office, Gbongan/Ibadan Road, Osogbo.
On May 17, the former Senator in a press statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Osogbo, gave a vivid historical allusion to his political career since 1999, saying his new political move would remain irrevocable and irreversible.
Omisore argued that those who have “misconstrued” his personality to be arrogance are weak personalities with intent of mischief and practically visionless.
But Odeyemi who was the spokesperson to the former Deputy Governor while featuring on a radio programme, Oro Oselu on Rave fm in Osogbo on Monday is of the opinion that the former needs to bury his governorship ambition.
“I’ve been a close ally of Omisore for a long time. I know what he can do. He has not joined SDP. Even if his supporters have burnt the PDP flags and issued statements on his behalf, I am still not convinced.
“He (Omisore) has not come out publicly to denounce his membership of the PDP. He is a well experienced politician whose onions have gone beyond contesting the Governorship seat.”
“He has been doing that for years without any fruition. My view is that he should bury his governorship ambition because he is more than that and seek higher offices than that of a Governor. Results of former elections have shown that he cannot be Governor in Osun,” Odeyemi noted.
