Osun 2018: Ooni Charges New AIG To Curb Violence

The Ooni Of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwunsi has charged the new Zone 11 Assistant Inspector General of Police(AIG), Danjuma Ibrahim to curb all forms of election violence and to ensure free and fair, credible and peaceful governorship election in Osun State.

The monarch made this known during a courtesy visit by the new AIG to the palace of Ooni on Wednesday.

Oba Ogunwusi called on the AIG to use all it takes to eradicate cultism across Osun, Oyo and Ondo, especially in Osun State where election is fast approaching.

Ooni implored the AIG to ensure adequate forces in the forthcoming election in Osun so as to prevent violence, rigging, anarchy and bloodshed in the state.

Earlier, the new AIG thanked the monarch for partnering with the police on many occasions, saying that the collaboration has helped in curbing crimes rate across Osun, Ondo and Oyo State.

He lauded the monarch for promoting Yoruba culture that are capable of turning the country to a viable economic nation.
