The people of Osun have been urged to vote for a credible candidate in the Saturday Governorship election so as to experience uncommon peace in the state.
The advice was given by Comrade Omirinde Amos, a Coordinator of Concern for Good Governance, an INEC accredited election observer for the coming gubernatorial election in the state when speaking with Osun Defender reporter in Osogbo.
This, according to him, will enable the electorates to elect leaders with good antecedents rather than offering leadership opportunity to people with the history of being anti-people.
Comrade Omirinde also charged Nigerian youths to wake up from slumber and be more involved in political processes and vie for positions while admitting that democracy would lead to good governance for the country if credible candidates are voted into power.
He however added that with better leadership recruitment process, Nigeria will eventually produce good leaders that will steer her ship aright.
According to him, “democracy is to be blamed for the lack of vibrancy in today’s civil society movement in the country, but with a better leadership recruitment process, Nigeria will give leaders opportunity to serve”.
Omirinde encouraged Nigerians not to lose hope but to continue to intercede for a better country.
He advised the electorates to come out enmass and ensure they vote during scheduled Saturday election, adding that by so doing, they would be contributing to the development of the nation’s democracy.
He also charged the people of the state to shun electoral violence before, during and after the election to affirmed the state of virtuous Osun is known for.
However, he urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC not to be bias towards any political party candidates during the Saturday election to afford disruptions.
