Chairman of the Labour Party in the state of Osun, Prince Bello Adebayo has revealed that two persons have far shown interest to contest for the party governorship ticket in the forthcoming 2022 poll in the state.
Adebayo made this known during the party 2021 end of the year interdenominational prayer and voter’s sensitisation program held at the party Secretariat on Tuesday, in Osogbo.
According to the chairman, he said two persons have approached the party National Secretariat in Abuja to snow interest to contest for the party governorship ticket in 2022 and they were directed to come to the state to declare their ambition.
Adebayo who refused to disclosed names of the interested aspirants added that the party has pegged the price of the nomination form at the rate of N12 million.
The guest speaker of the event, Comrade Waheed Lawal in his lecture, admonished members to work hard towards the victory of the party in the coming poll and not to be discouraged with their numbers.
Comrade Lawal opined that Labour Party is a party that everyone should associate with because it belongs to all labour, artisan and business owners in the country.
He said, “Labour party is a party everyone should reckon with because it’s the only party that belongs to all labour, artisan and business owners in the country. When the 2022 election in the state draw nearer, a lot of people will come into the party in their large numbers.
“So, it’s very pertinent for every member to work hard and to partake in the coming election. Everyone should be involved. You should not fold your arms.
“Also, we should all endeavor to get our voter’s card and no one should sell his or her vote The future of this state is in our hands. Let work hard for the party before those looking for a party to contest under will come by laying a good foundation”. He added.
