OSUN 2022: Adeleke Is Our Candidate – Osun PDP

Senator Ademola Adeleke has been adopted as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the 2022 Osun governorship election.

Mr. Sunday Bisi, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State of Osun Chapter made this known while speaking with news men in Osogbo.

The party chief revealed that, although Adeleke is not the sole candidate of the party, the leadership of the party under his watch has adopted him as the candidate of the party, other candidates are however free to contest the primary with him he emphasized.

Justifying the decision to adopt Adeleke, Mr. Bisi claimed that the state executives under Olasoji Adagunodo also adopted Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi as their candidate in 2018, but he ended up being defeated.

In his words, “Senator Ademola Adeleke is not the sole of the Osun PDP for the 2022 election in Osun.
Any other candidate is free to contest the primary election where delegates will elect the candidate of their choice.

“We don’t have any option than to put him forward again. In 2018, he wasn’t the candidate of the state executives but he ended up being the flag bearer of the party.

“We are in a democracy; Senator Adeleke has indicated interest in contesting the state PDP primaries in 2022,” he submitted.

Mr. Bisi also insisted that the party will provide a level playing field for all candidates
