A former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-West, Chief Tajudeen Oladipo, has said that leaders of the party in the State of Osun were yet to ratify a candidate for the 2022 Gubernatorial Elections in the state.
Oladipo, a chieftain of the PDP in the state, dismissed the claim making the round that the party had endorsed Senator Ademola Adeleke as its candidate for next year Gubernatorial Elections.
Speaking on Monday on ‘Oro Oselu’, a radio programme on Rave FM, an Osogbo-based broadcast station, Oladipo said the time was not ripe for the party and its leaders to embark on selection or anointment of any of the qualified party members for the 2020 Governorship Elections.
He said every eligible PDP member is entitled to contest the ticket, stating that the party members would decide who will flag the party’s ticket.
Oladipo, a former Chairman of Osogbo Local Government said: “Osun PDP is yet to anoint anybody as its candidate for the 2022 Governorship Elections. I don’t know where the person that said we had adopted a candidate heard that from. It is not even in our agenda now.”
He stated that PDP leaders are doing everything possible to settle the crisis rocking the party amicably.
