Osun 2026: ADC Accuses APC Of Plotting Voter Registration Fraud
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused the All Progressives Congress in Osun State of plotting to manipulate the 2026 governorship election through fraudulent voter registration.
In a statement issued on Friday, Publicity and Organising Secretary of the Omoluabi Progressives, Abosede Oluwaseun, the party alleged that the APC was registering non-indigenes from neighbouring states to boost its chances in the August 8 poll.
According to the ADC, credible reports indicated that individuals from Oyo, Ondo and Lagos were being mobilised into Osun’s voters’ register, with some allegedly undertaking multiple registrations aided by compromised officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The statement further alleged that where multiple registrations proved difficult, APC operatives were transferring voter cards belonging to party members in other states into Osun.
“This is condemnable. It is a sophisticated attempt at rigging and a direct assault on the will of the good people of Osun State,” the ADC declared.
The party also queried the announcement by INEC that Osun recorded 393,269 new registrations in just eight days, describing the figure as “dubious and questionable”.
It said the inflated numbers reflected what it called the APC’s “win at all cost” disposition under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
“The APC-led government has already inflicted Nigerians with weak social services, harsh economic hardship, rampant insecurity, and fiscal instability. To now undermine the electoral process in Osun is a fresh assault on democracy,” the ADC added.
The opposition party urged residents of Osun to be vigilant and resist what it described as desperate manoeuvres by the ruling party.
“Osun must not be used as a testing ground for electoral fraud. We call on the people to reject and vote against the APC on August 8, 2026,” the statement read.
The party insisted that only free, fair and credible elections would reflect the will of the people, warning that any attempt to subvert the process would be resisted.
