•Seeks Court Order To Delist APC Guber Candidate
The Action Peoples Party, APP, has dragged the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the August 15 gubernatorial election in Osun State, Mr Bola Oyebamiji before a federal High Court sitting in Osogbo, over alleged submission of a fake certificate.
Joined in the suit no: FHC/OS/CS/50b026 and filed on behalf of the plaintiff by Abdulateef RT, on March 16, were the Independent National Electoral Commission and the All Progressives Congress.
In the original summons, the APC asked the court to determine whether the INEC, which is the first defendant was right to have proceeded to publish Oyebamiji’s name when the APC candidate had submitted a fake certificate.

The party also asked the court to determine whether, “lots of documents supplied to the 1st Defendant by the 2nd Defendant, the purported publication of the 2nd Defendant as the candidate of the 3rd Defendant for the purpose of the Osun State Governorship election ought to be accepted
in view of the clear provision of section 182(1)(j) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).”
The APP in the suit sought five relieves which includes, a declaration that INEC was wrong to have proceeded to publish Oyebamiji’s name having submitted an alleged fake certificate.
The party asked for an order invalidating the publication of Oyebamiji’s name as the candidate of the APC for the gubernatorial election rescheduled for 15th August, 2026 for “submission of fake credentials”.
APP also sought “an order of perpetual injunction restraining INEC from publishing or further publishing and dealing/further dealing with Oyebamiji as the candidate of the APC.
“An order of mandatory injunction compelling INEC to expunge and delist Oyebamiji’s name from the list of candidates it published for the forthcoming election.”
