As Osun State celebrates 26th anniversary today, the State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congres, (APC) has given thumps up to Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s administration giant strides, adding that no government has ever done an average of what the governor accomplished within six and half years of his administration in the history of the state.
The party’s Director of Research and Publicity, Barrister Kunle Oyatomi in a statement, stated that at no time in its existence as a state as Osun experienced the level of development that had happened since 2010, saying its anniversary calls for inner reflection than loud celebration.
Describing Aregbesola’s traducers as bunch of political novices that lacked intellectual statistics, APC accused the opposition of conspiracy to destroy everything that the party has achieved adding that the people of Osun State are wiser and will not allow anybody to reverse the gains that have been made by the Aregbesola led government.
Meanwhile, the party has held a ratification Congress for delegates to the forthcoming national convention of the party led by Alhaji Shamsu Giwa.
Leaders of the party across the state converged on the state secretariat of the party situated along Gbongan road in Osogbo where the hitch-free State Congress presided over by Giwa led committee held.
Speaking shortly after the Congress, Alhaji Giwa who expressed satisfaction with the conduct of participants hinted that the panel will resolve objections raised by few individuals from about five local governments over delegate list.
On the chances of APC in future election considering the prevailing economic hardship, Giwa said Nigerians are aware that it was not the fault of APC but that of opposition who according to him bastardized the economy through massive corruption.
According to him it will take time to remove the mess allegedly created by Peoples Democratic Party adding that Nigerians will never vote for a party that milked them dry.
Corroborating his assertion, the state chairman of the party, Prince Gboyega Famodun gave assurance that come 2018, the party will sweep the polls in Osun.
He noted that Osun has never witnessed the unprecedented positive infrastructural turn around it experienced in the last seven years.
On minor objection raised during the ratification Congress, Famodun said it was expected because some changes were carried out at local government level after the initial list had been forwarded to Abuja.
He gave assurance that such objection would be resolved amicably adding that the objections were expected especially in an era of democracy.
