The Deputy Chief Whip, Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Gbenga Ogunkanmi, has congratulated the people of Osun as the state marks the 28th anniversary of creation.
Hon. Gbenga Ogunkanmi Representing Ayedire State Constituency while speaking to newsmen said the All Progressives Congress APC has made a positive impact on the development of the state.
He commended the former Governor of Osun State Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola on his Six integral action plan which facilitated the infrastructural development in the state.
According to him “I must first commend the revolutionary approach of Ogbeni Aregbesola in the area of infrastructural development.
“Look at his 10 kilometre per local government initiative. I grew up in Osun and I know what used to be the standard of drainage system constructed in the past, as compared to the ones done by the government of Ogbeni.”
“Many corners of the state where you could not expect to have tarred roads in the next 10 years have been taken to the future by his government.”
He added “We believe it is time to move on and concentrate efforts on the transformation work that started 28 years ago and which the people have mandated Gov. Gboyega Oyetola to continue and improve upon.”
The parliamentarian posited that “Government infrastructural development is a way of supporting the economy as it creates jobs for the people as well. We shall patronise local and indigenous contractors only to be aided by foreign experts where local knowledge and expertise cannot effectively guarantee adequate delivery.”
He however commended citizens of the state, various groups, across all political divides in Osun for maintaining the peace and unity in the state.
