•Says Gov. Adeleke Lacks Knowledge Of Governance
•Slams Speaker, CoS, PDP Chair
The lawmaker representing Osun East Senatorial District, Francis Fadahunsi, has said he was behind the sealing of Osun Amotekun operational base in Osogbo and Ife.
Fadahunsi equally said the state Governor, Ademola Adeleke has no knowledge of governance and is surrounded by ‘illiterate’ people.
OSUN DEFENDER reports that some police officers from the Intelligence Response Team, Force Headquarters, Abuja, on Wednesday, stormed the operation base of Osun Amotekun Corps in Oke-Fia and Ile-Ife and arrested 20 personnel of the corps over the killings at Akinlalu community.
It would be recalled that residents of Akinlalu, a community in Ife-North Local Government had alleged operatives of Osun Amotekun of storming the town and killing four people.
Also, the Osun State Police Command said the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has taken over the case.
The command also said five people have been arrested in connection with the killings in the community.
Meanwhile, the Osun State House of Assembly had earlier on Friday in a statement called for the immediate reopening of the sealed Amotekun offices.
The House also expressed alarm over reports alleging political interference by Senator Fadahunsi, describing such allegations, if true, as “reckless, abusive, and a betrayal of public trust.”
But speaking with newsmen, Fadahunsi confirmed that he was behind the sealing of the Amotekun offices, adding that the place has become the home of ‘murderers’.
The lawmaker said the security outfit has lost its purpose, noting that Amotekun was to protect the territorial integrity of the state and not terrorise the residents.
He further stated that 12 people have allegedly been killed by Amotekun personnel in Ife/Ijesa senatorial district in the last 10 months, adding that he can no longer keep quiet while his people are being killed.
He said, “The Amotekun office has become the home of murderers, not protecting the community. The Amotekun officers are disturbing the peace of the state.

“The Amotekun are supposed to protest the territorial integrity of the state, not to start terrorising. Even in my own town, Amotekun arrested someone in a land case. Can they do that in Ede?
“I am the Senator of Ife/Ijesa senatorial district, and this is not about the APC or PDP. From February to date, I’ve lost 12 people to Amotekun’s killing. After causing trouble for Ijesa South and Ijesa North, they now went to Ife to kill people in Akinlalu.”
Speaking further, Fadahunsi said, “there was a case of killing in Esa Oke caused by this careless Governor and the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. All these corrupt, useless people imposing people of no integrity to be the Oba and the chief of our community.
“As soon as they present something to him, he will sign because he has no knowledge of Governance. Then they did that one in Ido. I told him he was supposed to suspend the matter of chieftaincy title in that area because the person they put there was from London. He has not even gone there to pay a condolence visit to the community.
“You want me to keep quiet because of the Governor, the Speaker, Chief of Staff, and Party chairman who are all illiterates. Do they expect me to keep quiet as the Senator representing the district? I will not keep quiet. They would not kill a single goat in my area again. If they send them to go and destabilize my own Senatorial District, I will not allow it.”
Efforts to get the reaction of the spokesperon to the Governor, Olawale Rasheed proved abortive as calls to his line were not connecting and message sent has not been replied as at the time of this report.
