The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State of Osun has berated a stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Alhaji Y.K. Idowu, over his comments on the new minimum wage recently approved by Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
According to the APC, the opposition party should maintain its silence as it obviously has nothing meaningful to contribute to the political development of the state, rather than inciting violence.
The APC, in a statement signed by its Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy, Mr. Kunle Oyatomi and made available to newsmen yesterday in Osogbo, said it was reacting to a statement credited to Idowu, who charged Oyetola to be ‘moderate in enslavement of Osun workers’.
Oyatomi said: “It is disrespectful and insulting for a house of commotion, like that of Osun PDP, which in less than six months, has had four state chairmen, to advise the people’s Governor of Osun, in whom the citizenry show appreciation.
“It is laughable, to see a blind man driving a vehicle, conveying healthy people with visibilities.
“No one needs to be told that Governor Oyetola is worker-friendly and from inception of his administration, he takes welfare of Osun workforce a priority. Only those who do not know the notoriety of the PDP in Osun will believe the nonsense they are saying.
“Osun workers have identified themselves with Gov. Oyetola, who is a promise keeper and prudent manager of resources; he doesn’t just talk, he does what he says he will do.
“If critics and political opponents are blind and deaf, the good people of Osun are more intelligent and responsible, who acknowledge and appreciate Gov. Oyetola’s achievements in all ramifications.”
