Osun APC Crisis: APC Members Storm Court As TOP Leaders’ Trial Cames Up

The Chairman of the Osun Progressives (TOP), a caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State of Osun, Reverend Adelowo Adebiyi has expressed sincere gratitude to all members of the party who came to support the “Osun APC/TOP 7” at the commencement of their trial today-24-09-2021 at an Osogbo Magistrate Court 2.

Adebiyi said the trial has shown the clear path in which the Oyetola government had taken which is contradictory to the false reconciliation story they are mouthing to the public to gain undue sympathy.

The former APC Chairman in the state noted: “The mammoth members of the APC who thronged the State High Court premises today shows clearly too, which caucus of the party has the largest followership.”

He stated that it is clear that the soul of many members of the party is with The Osun Progressives (TOP) and that they will do anything to protect their interest which is the reworking and re-energising of the party.

Adebiyi who called on other members of APC who are still watching from the ringside to join TOP to renew the party for greater results said it is heartening that the true progressives know the truth of issues involved in the Osun APC disquiet.

“The large presence of APC members at today’s court proceedings indicates that truly, progressive minded party members are really ready for the reworking of our present progressives platform which is being gradually hijacked by carpetbaggers who came from the conservative wing of the Nigerian politics”, The Chairman stated.

He called on members of APC who are keen on having a strong and virile party to take deep interest in the case as it is clear that the lies by which the Oyetola government has come to represent will be made nude with the ongoing court case.

Adebiyi urged them to come to the court in higher number on the adjourned date of October 22, 2021 to watch the proceedings for clearer understanding of issues involved.

The TOP Chairman noted that The Osun Progressives is really interested in the prosecution of the case so as to absolve concerned individuals that the Oyetola government intends to criminalise.

“The case will also serve the opportunity of showing the world who actually is trying to shore up APC’s image and strength for greater attainment as against those with selfish intentions who careless whether APC drowns or floats”, he stated.

At the resumption of the case; Defence counsel, Barr. Gbenga Awosode who led other 10 lawyers informed the court that there was a report that Governor Adegboyega Oyetola had directed that the case be discontinued.

However, police prosecutor, Mr John Idoko said he was not aware of any move to discontinue the case and he has no directive to do so.

Awosode thereafter, prayed the court to direct the prosecutor to furnish the defence counsels with proof of evidence for the prosecution of the case.

The Magistrate, Mr Oluesegun Ayilara granted the prayer and ordered the police to supply the proof of evidence to the defence counsels.

Ayilara adjourned the case till October 22, 2021 for hearing.
