The All Progressives Congress, APC, State of Osun, has refuted the story that there is a disagreement in the leadership of the party over the fast approaching governorship election.
A story published earlier in the Independent Newspaper had gave the impression that the party leaders and elders were in disagreement with Governor Rauf Aregbesola over the issue of where the governorship candidate should emerge from and when to lift the ban on political activities for the purpose of the next governorship election.
In response to the publication, the party’s Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy, Kunle Oyatomi described the story in its entirety as a fabrication and with no iota of truth.
According to the party chieftain, there was no disagreement whatsoever at the meeting and the leaders did not even discuss the issues the publication reported there were disagreements on.
“What the meeting set out  to discuss was a review of the last local government election and measures required to strengthen the party structure throughout the state.
“It is unfortunate that the newspaper has been misled by unscrupulous individuals who fabricated the story for whatever advantage they thought they could get from it.
“In the process, the newspaper itself has misled the public. We hope in the future, this kind of error will not occur and the newspaper should always try to seek information from the appropriate quarters.” Oyatomi added.
