Supporters of Senator Iyiola Omisore on Sunday alleged that a sponsored effort was being orchestrated to disqualify the former National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2026 governorship primaries.

The claims surfaced after an anonymous publication circulated online, purportedly issued by a group calling itself the “AMBO Campaign Organisation,” which allegedly sought Omisore’s disqualification from the upcoming primaries.

But in a swift reaction, the AMBO Media Fronts dismissed any link between the publication and supporters of Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, describing the publication as fake and mischievous.

In a statement signed by its Coordinator, Adebayo Adedeji, the group said no such organisation as the “AMBO Campaign Organisation” exists, insisting that Oyebamiji’s political structure is known strictly as the AMBO Movement, since no APC primary has been conducted and no candidate has emerged.

“Only after the party selects its flag bearer, in line with INEC guidelines, will a campaign organisation be constituted,” the statement read.

Adedeji described the controversial publication as the handiwork of “fifth columnists” plotting to ignite tension within the party and weaken its internal cohesion ahead of the polls.

He said the aim was to create avoidable hostility between leading aspirants and distract the APC from its commitment to “ending the lacklustre administration currently mismanaging the state.”

The statement emphasized that Oyebamiji holds high regard for Omisore and all other aspirants within the APC, noting that the party remains “one big family bound by mutual respect and shared purpose.”

“Otunba Omisore is an experienced politician, eminently qualified to become the Governor of Osun State,” Adedeji stated, stressing that the AMBO Movement is committed strictly to issue-based politics and would never resort to smear campaigns or divisive tactics.

The group urged party supporters and the general public to disregard the publication, which it said was crafted purely to cause confusion ahead of the party’s governorship primary.
