Osun Assembly Debates New UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital Bill

The new Osun State University Teaching Hospital (UNIOSUNTHC) is expected to serve as a training ground for medical students and provide services to residents of the state.

This revelation was made by Timothy Owoeye, the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly at plenary in Osogbo on Wednesday.

Owoeye while noting that the teaching hospital would provide medical facilities to the students, added that it would be a training ground for nursing, resident doctors and medical research.

According to him, “The new teaching hospital will be a training centre for nurses and resident doctors, college of health science and academic research.

“The teaching hospital will carry out all other health services.”

The bill was debated thoroughly during the Committee meeting for further consideration of the mentioned bill at the plenary.

The adjustment was made from the title, long title, enactment, citation and clauses 1 to 13 respectively.
