Osun Assembly Emphasises Need For Environmental Sanitation

Chairman, House Committee on Environment and Sanitation, Hon. Akinloye Oluseye has disclosed that healthy living condition can only be guaranteed through clean environment that is safe for human habitation.
Akinloye made the remark while speaking to journalists after an environmental sanitation exercise carried out by staff members of the assembly at the Assembly complex Osogbo.
He stressed the need for people to imbibe the culture of cleanliness, while commending the entire staff for good gesture towards sanitation.
He observed that the impact of clean environment on the health conditions of the people cannot be over emphasized at all.
According to him, “cleanliness is next to godliness, the assembly must be ahead on sanitation because charity, it is said, begins at home”.
“The sanitation is not new again in the assembly, we only compliment state government efforts on sanitation and that is why I want to encourage staff of the Assembly to sustain it” he added.
The lawmaker maintained that the Assembly was trying to lead by example on sanitation of the environment in the state.
Meanwhile, the Clerk of the House of Assembly Mr. Simeon Amusan acknowledged full compliance and good participation of staff in the exercise as the turnout was very impressive.
He confirmed that the assembly’s environment has changed since the commencement of weekly sanitation.
A staff who spoke on the exercise, AlhajI Abdul-fatai Afolabi expressed his satisfaction urging the leadership of the Assembly to continue with it.
According to him,”House of Assembly is taking it as a priority to observe it every week in order to stay healthier”.
