THE House of Assembly of the State of Osun on Wednesday passed three bills into law at the plenary of the House in Osogbo.

The bills are: Osun State Legislative Funds Management Bill, Osun State Judiciary Funds Management Bill and the Osun State Private Veterinary Premises and Ambulatory Practice (Regulation) Bill 2021.

Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, while congratulating both the legislative and the judicial arms of government for gaining autonomy, stated that the 7th House of Assembly would continue to make development laws for the state.

Owoeye, who noted that the bills were for the development of the two arms of government, explained that they would guarantee good management of funds for both arms.

He said: “Both the legislative and the judicial arms of government should be different in all things.

“With the passage of the House of Assembly Autonomy Bill, the House will have the opportunity to carry out its affairs without interference.”

The Speaker also disclosed that with the passage of the Judiciary Autonomy Bill, the judiciary would have the opportunity to discharge their constitutional duties fairly without undue interference.

According to Owoeye, the passage of the Private Veterinary Premises and Ambulatory Practice Regulations Bill would put an end to the unprofessional conduct of veterinary doctors.

He explained that the bill would put a stop to illegal abattoirs and the slaughtering of sick animals within the state.
